Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Office Manager to join the Launch Vehicle Business Unit (LVBU) team, located in Chandler, AZ.
This position interacts with executives, key staff management and technical leaders, and will manage administrative staff members across the enterprise. This position requires the successful candidate to perform and manage administrative responsibilities with exposure to sensitive information requiring tact, diplomacy, discretion and sound judgment. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, diverse and professional environment – with a team who is dedicated to mission accomplishment for its internal and external customers. Although this is an on-site position, there may be periodic opportunities for teleworking.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, self-motivated, well organized, reliable and a detail-oriented team player. The successful candidate will have outstanding communication and influence abilities, and possess the ability to anticipate the needs of the LVBU team. This position may require occasional nonstandard work hours in support of urgent business schedules. The ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and maintaining positive relationships with LVBU stakeholders is essential.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work schedules, day to day workflow and operating costs).
Oversee and support all administrative duties in the office and ensure that office is operating smoothly
Provides direction to employees using established policies and procedures.
Assess staff performance and provides coaching and guidance to ensure maximum efficiency
Hiring, training, and evaluating employees and taking corrective action when necessary.
Makes decisions relating to accomplishment/prioritizing daily work responsibilities as needed
Developing, reviewing, and improving administrative systems, policies, and procedures and ensures they are implemented correctly.
Manage office budget
Provide other administrative support as necessary, including scheduling group meetings, maintaining calendars, doing research, and creating reports
Ensures invoices and purchase orders are established and processed
Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as necessary
Support the special events as needed
Assist with office layout planning and office moves and with managing and maintaining IT infrastructure
Identify opportunities for process and office management improvements, and design and implement new systems
Serve as back-up executive administrative support to LVBU Leadership, as necessary
Other assignments may be identified as necessary
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires Bachelor of Science degree plus 9 years of experience; Masters degree plus 7 years of experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Ability to obtain active secret security clearance is required

Salary Range: $93,100 USD – $139,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
