Job Description : Sahuarita Food Bank & Community Resource CenterPOSITION DESCRIPTIONPOSITION TITLEDirector Community Resource CenterDEPARTMENTCommunity Resource CenterSUPERVISIONBoardpresidentGENERALPOSITIONSUMMARYProvide leadership and training to partnersand volunteers for CRC programs; work with community partners and local media to recruit participants; ensure participant retention; track success. Guide volunteers/staff who provide coaching, navigation and referrals to clients. Serve as backup on safety net program registration.REPORTS TOBoard officersESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAs with all positions at the SFB-CRC, the CRC director will collaborate with others in performing these functions.Provide overall direction for the CRC, and with board officers and food bank executive director, develop goals and strategies for CRC.Determine priorities for programs, based on input from program participants, human and social services providers, business community and Workforce Development Advisory group.With colleagues, develop and manage CRC budget.Develop an assessment process that, when paired with individual development plans, will assist in guiding the progress of CRC participants.Ensure a balance between family support, health/nutrition, and workforce development (WFD) programs, based on community need.Identify program partners, acknowledging SFB-CRC values of not duplicating effective programs provided by others.Recruit instructors/facilitators for CRC skill development programs, partnering as possible with other human services and educational entities.Develop marketing and recruiting plans for classes and programs.Identify and recruit volunteer coaches/mentors and develop training curriculum for volunteer coaches.Track participant outcomes over two years.Backup Valley Assistance Services and Pima County Resource Navigator on SNAP registrations.Manage Wildfire utility assistance and SNAP-CAN.Attend Zoom meetings and other community collaboration meetings for networking.Place an emphasis on networking within the community as well as with Pima County and State of Arizona organizations and leaders.SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONSThis position will not have formal supervisory responsibilities but will coordinate the activities of all trainers and coaches as well as ensuring smooth operations with Pima County and VAS staff.Based on clear expectations and collaborative relationships, train, guide and supervise volunteer coaches and those who track participant progress.Serve as a coordinator with other staff members, partners and volunteers.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in education or equivalent experience5 years’ experience in education, coaching, vocational counseling, and/or program managementDemonstrated planning and follow-up skillsHighly developed skills in collaborating, and in working without supervisory authorityBilingual in English and Spanish, in conversation and in writingStrong verbal and written communications skills and an ability to listen without judgmentSensitivity to the impact of trauma and challenging life experiences of many clientsWillingness to take calls, texts and emails outside of working hours, as necessary to ensure respectful and timely response to volunteers, CRC participants, and colleaguesAbility to organize work and balance the demands of a busy workplaceProficiency in all Microsoft Office software products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and multiple conferencing software. Ability to quickly learn new software and hardwareExperience in grant-writing highly desirable.PHYSICAL & WORKPLACE DEMANDSThis is primarily an office position, although travel by car will be necessary at times.Meetings may occur in partners’ offices and other locations where volunteers and participants typically gather.Computers and other technology can be stressful, and this position requires good, corrected vision, and hearing/speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this positionJob Type: Full-timePay: $34,000.00 – $50,000.00 per yearSchedule:8 hour shiftCOVID-19 considerations:Currently all staff and volunteers are required to be vaccinated. Most are boosted. Everyone, including clients are required to be masked.
