The Music Mission team builds Spotify’s creator platforms, shapes innovation in our music products, and is responsible for ensuring that artists get the opportunity to live off their work. Our Creator products enable artists and their teams to create, connect with listeners, and grow their fanbase. Central to the vision is our offering of promotion tools for artists and labels, powered by Spotify’s deep knowledge of listener preferences and behaviors.
We are looking for an Insights Manager to join the Creator Business Analysis team. You will help run our Insights & Analytics team, supporting our rapidly growing business that helps drive an artist-centric future for the music industry. Your work will build upon our 15 years of unparalleled on-platform audience data to create models, forecasts, and analyses that together shape our outlook of the future of the music industry. This work will influence the priorities and projects undertaken by our product, research, and development teams to build new businesses in the music ecosystem. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music. You’ll also be connected to the broader Spotify insights community to expand the influence of your team’s work.
What you’ll do:
Lead and coach a team of Data Scientists by setting strategy and priorities for the team’s work to influence executives and drive impact on business metrics
Develop this outstanding data science & research team, prioritizing developing a diverse and inclusive environment for them to learn and thrive
Drive our foundational research roadmap and data analytics strategy, including innovative models predicting the future of the music industry, key actors within it, and financial outcomes
Supervise the building and maintaining of dashboards, business insights and other monitoring tools to help us better understand the performance of our business
Partner with our Business Managers on analytics related to our promotion and fan monetization initiatives
Develop sophisticated forecast models that improve our ability to help artists reach, grow, and monetize fanbases
Synthesize insights collaborations to develop and deliver an overarching cohesive data story in order to influence product strategy
Who you are:
You have experience leading insights teams passionate about informing the product development process through qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
You have a proven background in Data Science with practical chops and are excited to jump into the work alongside your team when needed.
Able to show an expert understanding of Data Science within a business context, with a clear ability to influence executives in both customer-centric and financially savvy ways.
Passionate about serving music creators and improving the industry for all.
Focused on solving user problems with a data-focused mentality. You understand the role and importance of qualitative and quantitative methodologies and when to deploy them.
Experienced in leading complex initiatives before anyone tells you to.
An inclusive people leader with a track record of building and developing teams that drive impact.
A phenomenal communicator and have experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and design partners.
Someone with an insatiable appetite for learning and evolving in all things. From leadership skills to craft to process to industry and market trends — you never stop pushing into the next big challenge.
