Job Description : Marketing StatementNYC Health + Hospitals/At Home reaches outside the walls of our hospitals and brings health care to patients where they live. With more than 600 dedicated employees, Community Care provides services including home care, community care coordination, and community-based care management to individuals managing chronic health conditions residing in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and The Bronx.Job DescriptionReporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Assistant Director of Communications will provide support to the Office of Marketing and Communications with various PR-related tasks and communication projects. This position will work collaboratively with the leadership of the Communications team, departmental leadership, promotional vendors and media partner to promote marketing and health awareness activities, community-based events and managing participation in system-wide campaigns to enhance the company’s image and brand visibility. The Assistant Director will implement the social strategy, coordinating with department management to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques in the culture. The incumbent is responsible for supporting marketing/growth strategies and cultivating relationships with external stakeholders including community, business, education, government and media partners.Acts as a community liaison to assist with establishing and maintaining positive relationships with community organizations, community advocacy groups that target vulnerable populations, provider offices, faith-based organizations and perform other activities to enhance Community Care’s presence in the communityAttends meetings with local community boards across the five boroughs and represents Community Care at community events for service promotion, education, and engagementDevelops, maintains and nurtures relationship with City agencies through routine meeting attendance, workshops, meetings, etc. and maintains knowledge of government regulations and emerging web technology to ensure regulatory compliance with all state, federal and Community Care specific requirementsMaintains active membership and participation in social, cultural, and civic organizationsOnsite support and management for Community Care-sponsored events and forumsAssists the Marketing Department in event planning, organizing speaking engagements and other formal presentations with the general public, media, community groups, employers and employees. Identifies subject matter experts to support key message development and coordinates the development of audio and visual materials, if required. Ensures communications are tailored to the audienceConducts presentations, staff exhibits and perform other activities in an effort to maintain and establish positive relationships with H+H stakeholders, community and healthcare organizationsConducts marketing presentations to increase effectiveness in establishing rapport, assessing individual needs and communicating product/benefit features and differencesProvides education to grassroots organization through workshops, health education activities and seminarsMaintains working relationship with local and specialty media contacts germane to the health care industry, regional business and other key outletsStrategizes and develops plan with contracted media firms to pitch, book and coordinate interviews for Community Care spokesperson(s), executives and subject matter expertsSupports Community Care’s social media platform, web framework, process and outreach by providing daily management of all social properties including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts based on company objectives and support for marketing messagingTracks all marketing requisitions, outreach activities, and monitors client relationship management databaseImplements strategic initiatives that will drive member growth, retention and address Community Care prioritiesResearches healthcare organizations with similar missions and values and shares information to management, identifies and collects educational material on community networks for partnership opportunitiesCreates reports based on statistical data to maximize effectiveness of campaignsSustains routine communication through correspondence (e-mail, memos, phone, F2F contact, etc.)Implements approved strategic communications marketing planOwnership for leveraging and highlighting Public Relations opportunities for Community Care – creating media advisories and press releasesSeeks opportunities to promote Community Care in our current and new business development marketsHelps manage Community Care Public Image in collaboration with other department leaders and the external media relations companyProvides insights and collaborates with writers, web designers, graphic artists, developers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop written material, collaterals, newsletters, press releases, talking points, scripts, web content copy and other relevant materials to promote and inform the public and press of Community Care campaigns and eventsHighlight departmental accomplishments and success stories for viable media opportunitiesInventory management and system-wide distribution of all Community Care branded materialsPerforms other duties as assigned or requestedMinimum Qualifications1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Marketing or an approved related discipline; and,2. Four years of responsible public relations experience involving the press and communications media, employee communications, community affairs, educational affairs, public information, corporate and business affairs, governmental and legislative affairs; or,3. A satisfactory equivalent.Department PreferencesMinimum High School Diploma or GEDMust have 3-7 years of relevant experience in communications, advertising or sales/marketing environmentsMust have a minimum 2 years of community relations experienceStrong communication skills (verbal and written) and proficient in Associated Press style writing standardsDemonstrate effective verbal, written and broad communications experience with depth in media relations, issues management and crisis communicationDemonstrate sound decision-making problem solving, good judgement, research and presentation skillsStrong understanding of social media management tools (e.g. hootsuite)Ability to understand when to escalate erroneous/inconsistent information discovered in resources to appropriate level of management for reviewSelf-motivated and detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skillsMust be outgoing and must demonstrate enthusiasm for motivating peopleMust have experience in strategic communication and integrated marketingDemonstrate analytical and persuasion/negotiation skillsCapacity to work independently and in a collaborative environmentAbility to work well under pressure, maintain deadline and defectively manage multiple projectsA creative and strategic thinker with broad public affairs and public relations experienceAbility to use software and hardware of a computer to complete certain moderate to complex tasksComputer proficiency- must possess knowledge in Microsoft Office (word, Excel, PowerPoint), use of internetKnowledge in operating general office equipment such as telephone, computer, related media and information devices, fax and copy machineMust possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a motor vehicle with valid motor vehicle insurance.
