In this brand new role, the School Climate & Culture Leadership Coach, will play a critical role in leading and supporting Hebrew Public to achieve its vision for holistic student success by meeting the diverse social, emotional, and academic needs of students. The School Climate & Culture Leadership Coach will coach school based culture leaders ( i.e. Deans of Culture, Social Workers, Assistant Deans of Culture) in creating supportive school-wide systems and routines, engaging classroom learning environments, nurturing students’ and adults’ social and emotional skills, and supporting student-directed academic learning. This role uses Responsive Classroom along with social and emotional learning as a coordinating framework for multiple aspects of school life including trauma-informed practices, school disciplinary approaches, and building positive school culture. The School Climate & Culture Leadership Coach will partner with the Network Director of Special Education to coach school-based culture leaders in supporting school-specific Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), ensuring that there are evidence-based practices for all students and adults (Tier 1), focused supports for groups of students with specific needs (Tier 2), and individualized supports for students with high needs (Tier 3).This is an ideal position for an experienced school leader with a strong background in culture and climate who is also a systems thinker. This position will have the opportunity to coach leaders and educators on integrating Responsive Classroom approaches across the school and into instruction, as well as coordinating Responsive Classroom with other school-wide policies and practices including trauma-informed practices, restorative justice approaches, positive school climate and best practices in effective school-wide systems, routines and classroom management.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Effectively communicate a consistent vision of Responsive Classroom as the coordinating framework for student educational successCreate and maintain a MTSS model of Responsive Classroom that includes a menu of options the network supports, including the following:Tier 1: Identify and implement evidence-based practices with a particular lens on culturally, linguistically, and abilities diverse student populations; Share, model, train, and support continuous improvement for evidence-based SEL practices across the network; integrate SEL and trauma-informed practicesTier 2: Identify SEL supports for subgroups of students, including those at-risk for school suspension and students in need of focused skill instructionTier 3: Coordinate with the Network and Schools to determine appropriate supports for students, families, and schools, including during crisis situations and to address trauma-related needs.Develop resources, tools, and trainings for schools and network staff to support successful implementation of evidence-based Responsive ClassroomCoach, supervise, support and evaluate school-based leaders, including modeling Responsive Classroom practices and personal continuous improvementWork collaboratively with network and school-based staff to ensure that tools, resources, communication, and policies are designed to support the implementation of Responsive Classroom for the culturally, linguistically, and abilities-diverse population.Ensure technical assistance is provided to school communities in implementing Responsive Classroom and student support across the network schools in order to promote positive school climate, prevent violence and bullying, and engage students collectively.Work collaboratively in designing measurement frameworks and data collection approaches that would help capture students’ developmental and non-academic progress.Monitor and analyze data to problem solve student, family, school and/or community needs, including bullying, disproportionality (i.e. suspension, discipline disparities, etc)Establish and manage exceptional professional relationships with critical stakeholders including Heads of School, Network staff and all teaching staff in order to provide best-in-class coaching and support.Design and continually improve systems for capturing, codifying and sharing materials and best practices within and across campuses.Carry out other duties as assigned.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:Passion for the critical role of Responsive Classroom and SEL in improving the lives of diverse students, families, and staffBelief in the critical importance of diversity in the life of a schoolCommitment to high performance standards and unwavering belief that all students can excelAbility to coach and lead a teamDevelop empathy-based relationships to influence outcomesComfort navigating a matrixed reporting structure with the capacity to focus on broader organizational goals while adapting to individualized school needsA strong work ethic and commitment to resultsProven ability and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environmentAn authentic commitment to the Hebrew Public mission, values and school modelSense of humorExcellent oral and written communication skillsLegally authorized to work in the USAEducational Background and Work Experience: A minimum of five years of experience as an culture leader (i.e. Head of School, Dean of Culture, Assistant Principal etc.); with a focus on social, emotional, and behavioral supports; ideally with familiarity of both elementary and secondary teaching.Deep knowledge of culture/climate best-practices; familiarity with Responsive ClassroomExperience training and coaching school leaders around social, emotional, and behavioral supportsAbility to coach and develop school leaders and school staffExperience in development and implementation of professional development activities as it relates to social, emotional, and behavioral supportsKnowledge of data analysis and using data outcomes to support improvement planning, goal setting, and continuous improvement activitiesLOCATION: New York, NY (3-4 days in person;
