Position : Architectural Designer – Residential Homes

Job Description : We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, multi-tasking Architect to join our company. This individual plays an essential role in the success of our projects and must be incredibly detailed-oriented and an excellent problem solver. The candidate will work closely with the customer and consult with General Contractor and/or Project Manager.Chris Kelley Contracting is a design-build contracting business. We value integrity and expect high-quality craftmanship from all employees and sub-contractors; we do not accept anything less. We are seeking a committed professional for this role; please do not apply if you don’t meet our requirements.Competencies and responsibilities- Experience in all facets of residential architectural design (as-built drawings, design/proposed drawings, construction drawings).- Responsible for submitting approved plans. Must be an expert in City and County of Boulder permitting process and code requirements.- Proven track-record of working with customers and builder to ensure design meets budget and building requirements.- Familiar with construction techniques, materials and cost.- Comfortable making recommendations to customers and ensuring those ideas fit within project scope.- Proficient at measuring as-built home and comfortable working in varying conditions (weather, abandoned homes, occupied homes, etc.).- Able to develop new-build drawings.- Demonstrated ability to coordinate key preconstruction experts such as, surveyors, energy raters, engineers.Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in architecture- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as residential architect.- Must be a licensed Colorado architect (or willing to obtain license)- Background check requiredAdditional skills and expectations- Strong problem-solving skills.- Proficient at time management.- Excellent communications skills and ability to clearly present information.- Must have mode of transportation.- If familiar with Builder Trend, it’s a plus.- Take pride in work.- Represent company respectfully and professionally.- Must have computer and workspace.Why work with us?Seeing a homeowner’s dreams become a reality is simply rewarding.
