This position involves managing both the clinical and administrative aspects of all clinical programs.The Clinical Operations Manager ensures that the entire clinical operation is running as smoothly as possible while upholding the organization’s values as a leading nonprofit and health care provider in the community. Ability to work in-person on site 75% of time.THE DETAILS OF THE JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Executive Director in the oversight of all clinical services (Prenatal, Family Planning, Cancer Prevention, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Tuberculosis and Immunizations) in collaboration with the medical advisor, medical officer and staff.Ensures compliance with all nursing/health care standards.Maintain renewals of staff nursing licenses, revalidations and credentialingManage and develop clinical staff including recruitment, on-boarding, training and professional development performance evaluations and conflict resolution.Acts as resource to clinical staff.Assist with clinical assessments of patients, patient navigation and case management.Develop and supervise quality improvement strategies, delivery and outcomes.Evolve and develop program guidelines, policies and procedures for clinical services that reinforce quality standards that align with organization’s mission and values.Monitor and evaluate operations, program budgets, processes and/or practices for quality, safety, efficiency and effectiveness.Ensures adherence to strict federal guidelines of all clinical programs.Maintain data and record keeping practices including pricing, chart audits, data cleanup, data collection and grant reporting.Develop patient charges for all services including conducting cost analysis and patient sliding fee scale based on the federal poverty guidelines.Deliver education, health promotion and disease prevention presentations to community partners and to the general public.Represent CHS, act as the point of contact and liaison with Pitkin County Public Health for Emergency Preparedness Response activities (EPR, COVID Vaccinations, ESF participation).REPORTING STRUCTURE Reports-To Level: Executive Director# of Reports: 3-5 Direct ReportsWORKING RELATIONSHIPS Cross-departmental relationshipsClients and clients’ family membersExternal vendors (suppliers, contractors, community partners, etc.)Communities in which the organization operatesWORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.This role may have exposure to toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and may be interruptive. This position requires the ability to work in-person on site 75% of time.PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work may require sitting for long periods of time, stooping, bending, and stretching for supplies with occasional lifting of files or paper weighing up to 25 pounds.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. It is necessary to view a computer monitor for long periods of time.Duties require manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard and mouse, calculator, telephone, copier, scanner, and other office equipment as necessary.WHAT IT TAKES TO DO THE JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of health care and the public health system.Understanding of health care delivery in a clinical setting. Recognition of clinical operations priorities including safety regulations, compliance, and quality improvement.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated, results driven, detail oriented and adaptable.Strong organizational and leadership skillsStrong emotional intelligence and ability to coach, mentor, relate and listen to team members.Exceptional written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interface with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, staff, and external stakeholders.Knowledge of relevant governmental and clinical regulations and quality standards.Ability to monitor program and organizational budgets.Knowledge of electronic health records and IT infrastructure including email, web navigation, Microsoft Suite and Google programs.Demonstrated awareness of the principles of health equity and cultural competency.Ability to speak Spanish a plus.Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines.Able to exercise good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATES Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree. Registered Nurse or Masters in Health Service Professions Preferred (NP, PA, MHA, MPA, etc.)Minimum 3 years of health management experience preferred.
