Job Description : Principals living in Big Island, Hawaii are seeking an experienced, organized and detail oriented full-time executive housekeeper/cook who will work collaboratively with another full-time housekeeper/cook to efficiently clean main residence and three guest houses totaling 12,000 square feet. Housekeeper should expect to work on three to five days per week (including weekdays and weekends). Schedule on days working will be a combination of 8:00/9:00am – 6:00pm or later when principals are in residence. This schedule will ensure that each housekeeper works half the time (approximately 26.5 weeks per year) and receives approximately two weekends off per month. Housekeepers will collaboratively make monthly schedules at least two to three months in advance. The position requires flexibility as family’s schedule changes at various times in the year (e.g., holidays, travel, etc.). The ability to work around the principals while at the same time cleaning and organizing in an efficient manner is important. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion, collaborative to work with domestic employees, experienced working with principals that are around residence often (discreet and staying out of the way is important), comfortable with children (extended family visits frequently throughout the year), adept at organizing and general cleaning, knowledgeable with cleaning various surfaces and artwork, experienced assisting with entertaining, skilled with laundry, proficient with ironing, experienced with cooking basic meals (when private chef is off of work), and driving. Family is open to local candidates and domestic relocations. Start date is flexible for the right candidate.RESPONSIBILITIES: Strong knowledge of proper care for various surfacesCleaning and preparation of homes (e.g., kitchens, family rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc.)Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floorsVacuum carpets, rugs and draperiesDust and polish furniture and fittingsKnowledge of cleaning and maintaining artworkClean metal fixtures and fittingsEmpty and clean trash containersDispose of trash in a sanitary mannerClean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showersWipe down glass surfacesWipe down refrigerators, wine fridge, mini fridges, etc.Wine cellar inventoryDispose of expired food in refrigerator, freezer and pantryMake up beds and change linens as requiredTidy up roomsPack and unpack principals for travelOrganize closets, storage, etc.Keep cleaning supply, household and food inventory (use inventory for creating lists to run errands)Keep light bulb inventory and change light bulbsSort, wash, load and unload laundryIron and press clothing and linensSort, fold and put away clean laundryMaintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working conditionMonitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements to executive assistantOversee vendor and contractors working at condo (report any and all information to executive assistant)Wash dishes and clean kitchen according to agreed hygiene standardsClean appliancesManage dry cleaning, dry cleaning inventory and inspect clothing and linens upon returnRun errands (e. g., grocery store, dry cleaner, seamstress, florist, dropping off donations, etc.)Declutter and organizational projects, as directed by principalsTake items for donation, as directed by principalsClean entryway of homeFresh flower bouquets arranged weekly or as needed based on principals’ preferencesCare for indoor plants and flowersPolish silverCleaning up and organizing outdoor living spaces (e.g., terraces, patios, balconies, etc.)Basic food preparation that includes fresh meals and meals left for reheating (required when private chef is not working)Assistance with entertaining (e.g., preparation for event, helping during event, clean up, etc.)Display seasonal holiday decorations (e.g., Christmas tree and decorations for Christmas, etc.)QUALIFICATIONS: Understand the importance of maintaining discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos along with ability to write simple correspondenceTechnology proficient (e. g., email and text messages for communication, etc.)Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bendProfessional with good attitude, hard working and pleasant to be aroundCollaborative to work with family office and domestic employeesDiscreet and calm demeanorREQUIREMENTS: 2-5+ years of consistent and recent full-time housekeeper experience2-3 references from domestic positionsEligible to work in the United StatesSeeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)Fluent in EnglishDriver’s license and clean driving recordWilling to run extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests and psychological evaluationCOVID-19 vaccination(s)COVID-19 testing and antibodies testingSafe vehicle for transportationCOMPENSATION: $80K+ gross annual salary (based on background and experience)Health insurance stipendThree weeks (15 days) paid vacationDiscretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)Please read the job description carefully and kindly apply with your cover letter, resume, references (email address and phone number), and letter(s) of recommendation if you feel that you meet all of the requirements.
