Northern Star (Pogo) LLC have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an ICT Systems Support Analyst at our world-class Pogo operation in Alaska on a rotational camp schedule.
What’s the role?
The Systems Support Analyst reports to the Senior Systems Support Analyst, and the primary role is to ensure the Company’s staff at site and IT systems and computing environments are managed and maintained effectively and efficiently to provide maximum service availability and security. The IT Systems Support Analyst also assists with providing support users, desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and common software applications used across all business units.
Duties include:
Evaluate, recommend, implement, and support data and voice network solutions providing enough capacity, availability, performance, reliability, and security to support current and future business requirements in compliance with the Information Technology Policy.Hands on management of network operations to include connectivity issues, installing and maintaining network equipment, and monitoring and reporting operational status.Hands on management of IT system and network operations to include connectivity issues, installing and maintaining equipment, monitoring, and reporting operational status, backups and disaster recovery.Monitor the IT Service Desk and ensure that support incidents are dealt with in a timely manner, and support incidents are escalated to IT management when required.Provision and support IT systems including desktop and server applications, hosted applications, databases, network, telephone, and IT security systems.Advise IT staff and other Northern Star staff and contractors on IT security best practices and ensure compliance with the Information Technology Policy.Work with site operational managers to ensure that Operational Technology systems comply with the Operational Technology Policy.Undertake other duties as required.
What are we looking for?
You’ll be an experienced systems analyst who will display behaviour consistent to our Northern Star Values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Results, looking to work with the business for the long term and be an integral part in its future growth and development.
The specifics:Extensive network administration and support experience is a priority. Remote site experience highly preferred.Experience administering switches, routers, and other network equipment (HP, Cisco, Ruckus, and Ubiquiti experience preferred).
Experience generating and maintaining documentation and network diagrams.PBX/VoIP experience a plus, but not required.Experience with Azure and Office365.General Windows server administration experience.
VMware administration experience a plus, but not required.
Good communication skills.Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements.Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.
The Details:
Working a 2 weeks on, 1 week off schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.
Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, great Wi-Fi & cable TV. Cell service is available through Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.
