Ekuk Fisheries is looking for energetic, adventurous, hardworking people to join our team in beautiful Bristol Bay. Our salmon processing facility located off the Nushagak River; home to the largest sockeye salmon run in the world.

Seafood processing can be arduous and physical work.

It is commonly done in a damp, wet and cool environment. It resembles production line work and is fast paced. You will be required to stand for 3 hour intervals without a break. A very large percentage of our crews are college students and we have experienced return rates of students up to 45%. That is a great return rate and while it doesn’t happen every year it does speak to the suitability of the Ekuk experience for students.

We provide transportation from designated airports in the lower 48 to the Ekuk facility. We also provide 3 meals per day, lodging, bedding, raingear, boots, gloves and liners free of charge. Weekly laundry service is provided free of charge as well.

Types of Seafood Processing jobs:

Sort and prepare fish for freezing.
Weigh, record weights, pack fish in boxes.
Work in freezing room.
Stack, palletize, and shrink-wrap boxes.
Clean fish
Fillet fish (slice flesh from bones and prepare fish for freezing).
Clean and pack fish eggs.
A processor may rotate from one job to another.

Timing & Workplace Environment

Available to work the full season – approximately mid June to the end of July in Ekuk, AK.
Willing and able to travel by aircraft to remote locations in Alaska.
Physically able to stand and work long hours (some jobs may have lifting requirements).
Able to get along well with other people in remote and sometimes adverse conditions.
Not afraid of hard work.
Able to maintain a positive attitude.
Willing to work and live in a multi-cultural environment.
Willing to follow directions and abide by safety rules.
