Job Description : Job Title: Case ManagerReports to: Direct Service Manager, Director of Grants and ProgramsKey Relationships: STAR staff, Forensic Nursing Services of Providence, Law enforcement agencies, homeless resource centers, Alaska Native Justice CenterPosition Summary: Provide intensive case management with sexual assault victims who display a high risk of re- victimization. Provide support and referrals to clients at risk of homelessness. Also be available as needed to provide crisis intervention, advocacy and support for all victims and their families of sexual violence through one-on-one personal support sessions, and crisis line coverage.Qualifications: · Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services or related field or equivalent work experience.· Experience: Experience in crisis intervention techniques or case management preferred.· Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of sexual violence issues and advocacy skills. Must possess the ability to work with culturally diverse clients and staff and engage in communication from a trauma-informed approach. Must be able to manage multiple tasks. Must be organized and detail oriented.· Special note: o Must be able to work independently and be self-directed.o Must have a valid Alaska driver’s license and insured vehicle.o Attend a 40-hour crisis line training within 6 months of hire. All STAR staff members are required to answer our 24 hour crisis response hotline.o STAR employees must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.o Provide Administrative Back Up function after regular hours on a rotating schedule with other Administrative staff, approximately once per week and on scheduled weekends (approximately every seventh weekend) and holidays.See Administrative Backup job description for additional information.Level of Responsibility: Maintains contacts of a confidential nature throughout the agency and outside the agency. May be required to use independent judgment in interpreting agency rules and policies.Job Responsibilities & Duties: Work with STAR Direct Services Department to identify appropriate client referrals for the Case Manager program.Maintain a case load of 10-12 active clients each month.Establish safe methods of communication and implement risk reduction strategies with each client.Assist client in setting and achieving goals of health and safety.Establish routine outreach activities to agencies who serve high risk populations.Attend weekly case consults to discuss referrals and resources.Maintain accurate and appropriate client records, including statistical information and summary of contacts and provide information and referrals as appropriate.Manage emergency financial assistance funding, maintain an appropriate documentation of expenditures and record of communication and documentation.Represent STAR in a professional and courteous manner and maintain working relationships with community partners.Stay current on issues relating to sexual assault and issues affecting sexual assault victims.Utilize knowledge of sexual trauma to assist victims in individual sessions and crisis response scenarios.Conduct lethality assessment, safety checks, and safety planning.· Report suspected abuse of children and vulnerable adults.· Provide victims with legal advocacy for appropriate civil and criminal matters.Maintain accurate records and submit reports in a timely manner.Other related duties as assigned.Hours: Full time, exempt, flexible schedule to meet the needs of the agency, some remote work available.Must submit cover letter and resume.
