Job Description : JOB SUMMARY: RurAL CAP Child and Family Advocacy Center is a facility based, child focused program in which representatives from many disciplines (including law enforcement, child protection, victim’s advocacy, prosecution, mental health, and medical providers) work together to ensure the highest level of care to victims of child abuse and their families. The Coordinator will provide the day-to-day management of programs supporting this mission. These activities will include program planning and development, material acquisition and coordination with other programs serving child abuse victims and their health care providers. The individual will work with partners to coordinate and produce professional education programs and regional outreach programs that focus on child abuse prevention and education.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provide confidential support directly and through referrals for child survivors and non-offending caregivers served through the Child and Family Advocacy Center· Coordinate and produce professional education programs and regional outreach programs that focus on child abuse prevention and education activities as well as describe the Child and Family Advocacy Center services to encourage referrals.· Develop and maintain a database to comply with National Children’s Alliance reporting standards for accredited centers as part of Center development. As well as all other federal grant support data reporting requirements.· Participate in grant writing, seek internal and external funding opportunities, and provide administrative support for programs.· Activities will include working with RurAL CAP Communications to develop a webpage.· The individual must stay abreast of current national trends and public and research policies related to child abuse and establish and maintain relationships with extensive external contacts.· Position requires public speaking.· Must have demonstrated leadership, communications, problem-solving, and organizational ability. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to deal effectively with all levels of tribal and RurAL CAP organization as well as other external health care institutions and community groups.· Computer experience with literacy in word processing and spreadsheet programs is required.· Must be dependable and self-directed to meet project deadlines. Must maintain a proactive interest and focus on issues related to child advocacy.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Participates in all appropriate training functions, developing and leading workshops, presenting at conferences, etc.2. Networks with other RurAL CAP staff, service providers, prevention organizations and agency partners to promote the mission and goals of RurAL CAP.Performs other duties as assigned.EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED EDUCATION: Must be at least 18 years of age.Working knowledge of rural Alaska.Responsible work ethic with reliable attendance.Proven ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem solving and decision-making and perform basic assignment with little or no direct supervision while also working effectively as a team member.Demonstrated intermediate level of computer skills necessary in order to use and create documents and reports, spreadsheets, workshop materials and slide presentations, and to enter data into intricate database programs and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.Must keep all matters concerning participants in strictest confidence as required by HIPAA privacy and the 42 CFR, Part II confidentiality regulations.Must be able to provide own transportation to meet work schedule requirements.Must have a valid driver’s License and maintain a valid driver’s license throughout the course of employment.
