Job Description : Are you interested in working with the UAF Admissions team? The Office of Admissions and the Registrar is hiring for the position of Admissions Processing Coordinator. This is a dynamic position that requires a high level of attention, organizational skills and the ability to interpret complex systems of education. The successful candidate will be an energetic, self-motivated individual with an interest in student success, process improvement and daily challenges. They will be able to work independently as well as in cooperation with student assistants, other admission coordinators, the admission manager and the admissions communication and recruitment teams. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular benefited position.
Duties:
20FUNCTION #2: COMMUNICATIONS Serve as a primary resource for all things admissions. Assist students, faculty and staff via phone, email and in person. Troubleshoot problems, answer questions and provide direction within the guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Act as a liaison to the various academic departments and assist administrative personnel with the review of graduate application materials. Work with recruitment to coach prospective applicants through the admission process. Assist in the office phone queue to answer general questions pertaining to admission, scheduling, registration, graduation and transfer credit.Essential
25FUNCTION #3: PROJECTS, TRAINING AND UPGRADES Assist leadership to develop and implement strategies for process improvement. Research solutions and bring new ideas to the table. Take part in regular system testing for upgrades and make recommendations for improvements. Lead regular semester and annual clean-up projects. Assist with the training of new student assistants, staff members and academic department personnel.Essential
55FUNCTION #1: REVIEW AND PROCESS APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION Independently determine decisions for admission by evaluating transcripts, test scores, and supplemental documents. Incoming applications will be divided among three admission coordinators by applicant type; each coordinator will be responsible for the admission of their applicant type. In addition to decisions, file review may include document authentication, international credit conversion, GPA recalculation, residency approval and determining scholarship eligibility.Essential

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

Two years of experience in education, business or a related field. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Associates’ degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

This is a full-time, Grade 77, minimum $21.82/hr, DOE, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
