Job Description : About usAt Alaska Wildland Adventures (AWA), we strive to be leaders in responsible tourism. Our company culture focuses on care and concern for our natural world and environment while also extending into advocacy for equality, inclusion and fairness in our human relationships – with both our guests and our staff.Raft and fishing trip shuttles, Anchorage guest pickups, grounds keeping and logistics; our shuttle drivers are integral to creating a great experience for our guests.When you aren’t running shuttles you will assist with maintenance, landscaping and other camp projects so strong preference is given to applicants with skills they can apply when they are out from behind the wheel.Likewise, experience driving with trailers, buses or a Class “C” CDL is a plus. Pay is DOE. Willing to train the right candidate to gain their CDL during the season.We provide supportive leadership, uplifting community and work culture, and paid training for all positions.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:Exceptional guest service and ability to problem solve.Flexibility and accuracy in dealing with complicated logistics and scheduling.Cheerful and enthusiastic attitude, punctuality, dependability.Ability to work both independently and within a team structure.Willingness to learn and share the natural and cultural history of the area.Neat and clean appearance.Ability to live and work in a communal, camp-like atmosphere.Independently loading heavy and awkward items like luggage, coolers or boxes weighing 50 lbs. or more and safely participating in group lifts of rafts and motors that can weigh more than 400 lbs. are regular and essential duties of this position.PREFERENCE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO POSSESS:Experience driving large vehicles, 15-passenger vans or CDL passenger vehicles. Experience trailering boats or heavy loads.Class “C” Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement or equivalent.Ability to obtain a Class “C” CDL with Passenger Endorsement during training.Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen and participate in a random drug and alcohol screening program as required by the DOT.Demonstrable interpretive experience.Mechanical, construction, landscaping, or other complimentary skills.Advanced medical certifications.CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:CPR and First AidJob Type: Full-timePay: From $15.00 per hourSupplemental Pay:TipsCOVID-19 considerations:Our COVID-19 precautions and mitigation plans will be made available to you during the hiring process.
