Job Description : Overview:

Umialik Insurance Company is excited to announce an opportunity to join our Claims team as a Claims Representative with our Auto Physical Damage team. The individual in this role will hold a highly visible and important position working with our customers in the claims handling process.
As a candidate, you will have at least two years of auto adjusting experience with an insurance carrier. We are looking for an individual who has strong communication, time management, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
Handles high volume, low to moderate complexity claims within settlement authority.
Ensures customer service excellence.
Investigates and reviews policy forms, facts and documents related to claims to make appropriate decisions on claims resolution.
Utilizes knowledge, experience and available resources to resolve claims.
Has regular contact with customers (insureds, claimants, agents) as well as with employees across the organization.
Provides direction to outside vendors and partners.
Qualifications:
2+ years of handling auto claims with an insurance carrier.
Experience working with Microsoft Office and other systems on a daily basis.
Understanding of industry practices, standards, and claim concepts.
Able to multitask and solve problems.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills.
Good business judgment.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
Working toward AIC, AINS or CPCU certification is preferred.
