Job Description : TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate and repair aircraft discrepancies to standardsDuties to be accomplished in accordance with Cargolux Maintenance Management Exposition (MME) and within the framework of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)Ensure that all work is signed off by the use of correct technical manual referencesMaintain shift scheduleMaintain station maintenance equipment and facilitiesMaintain station kit of spare aircraft partsMaintain required station technical library, documentation, and recordsMonitor aircraft movementsAttend scheduled training courses.AOG support in other line station when necessary.Other duties assigned by their superior.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
Functions:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance, repairs and other line maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment in accordance with specified manuals, procedures and EASA regulations; communicate with all departments within the company; coordinate with contracted maintenance; required to be on-call; travel for station coverage, training and other maintenance support: work outside in all types of weather; maintain station manuals, parts and tooling inventory; perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Ideally EASA Part 66 AML B1/B2
FAA A&P License
Minimum 5 experience in an aircraft maintenance support environment, preferably with release to service privileges
Ability to independently troubleshoot aircraft systems; excellent aircraft systems and technical knowledge
Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and evaluate structural damage
Self-motivated with high integrity, cooperation, professionalism and leadership
Ability to work under stressful situations
Excellent organizational skills
Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a distinct advantage
Ability to frequently travel within the entire Cargolux network as required
Ability to obtain SIDA Badge (Federally required background to obtain access to airports, aircraft and air cargo)
Must legally be able to work in the United States
Live or relocate to the Los Angeles area
Preferred Skills:
Prefer 10 years’ experience in all phases of commercial transport aircraft
2 years hands-on line maintenance experience on B747-400/-8 aircraft
previous experience as line maintenance representative
working knowledge of Microsoft software including Word, Excel, and other software such as TRAX, AIMS is a distinct advantage.
The position holder is in general accountable for the accomplishment of following job results and tasks:
Provide normal routine aircraft line maintenance servicing.
All work on aircraft, aircraft systems, and accessories is accomplished in accordance with the relevant aircraft technical manuals or other work instructions.
By checking that all information used to accomplished work is correct and up to-date
By maintaining station technical library including records, documentation, spares and equipment
Facilitate maintenance
By assisting other station technician in his duties.
Contribute to over-all team effort by performing all related tasks as may be required
By accomplishing all work in a professional manner
Maintaining his own and company tools in a serviceable condition
Report all defects and arranging appropriate rectification
Ensure protection by wearing correct working clothes and using correct safety equipment
Communicating to Main Base details concerning work/task handovers by verbal and written communication with MCC.
Maintain professional knowledge
Review relevant technical and training manuals, publications, Service Bulletins and Maintenance Tips
Practice the use of Best Practice standards
Follow-up work results
By checking its completion in accordance with the prescribed procedure
By ensuring that all tasks and inspections have been carried out in accordance with the requirements of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other regulatory authorities as appropriate
By checking that all paperwork and maintenance forms are properly completed.
When necessary or requested by informing MCC on duty the progress of the work, all problems, such as discrepancies, lack of spare parts, improper installation, lack of manpower etc.

Report all deviations, from standard work practices, to MCC or station manager, this includes Safety and Health issues
Contribute to the maintenance of a safe working environment
Practice, and encourage the adherence to the use of “Best Practice;
Budget planning responsibility
The position holder has no budget planning responsibility.
He/ she has however to report to the Fleet Support needs and requirements leading to budgeting actions.
Revenue and cost control
The position holder is responsible to perform his / her work in a way that costs are minimized.
He / she has responsibility to control cost generated by his / her Station.
Strategic responsibility
The position holder has no strategic planning responsibility; he / she must however contribute by his/ her work to achieve the goals fixed for his/ her position through the departmental strategy plan or by budget.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position demands a regular and full-time presence.
Travel to other location to perform these services will be required.
Flexibility will be needed within working hours.
Working shifts is a requirement for this position.
Stand-by availability may be required
Work in adverse/outdoor conditions
