Job Description : The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.
The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.

Position Length:
This is a 1-year part time position, based on a Federal Grant. The Grant will be reapplied for but is not guaranteed.
Work Hours:
Monday thru Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Administrative Investigator
Job summary
The Administrative Investigator is responsible for obtaining the necessary criminal documents for evaluations to be conducted. These duties include but are not limited to contacting agencies in various counties and States to request criminal documents, which are then submitted to SORRB’s Clinical Evaluators for review. The Administrative Investigator may be asked to travel to the county, on occasion, when necessary.
The Administrative Investigator is responsible for any individual duties assigned by the Chief Investigative Analyst to assist in the collection, compiling, and reporting of documentation need for sex offender classification. This includes, but is not limited to, accurately documenting the criminal history, identifying offenses requiring document collection, reaching out to all relevant resources for the related documentation, recording a timeline for requests/retrievals, and compiling information that has been obtained in a usable format. Communicates with the Chief Investigative Analyst on a regular basis to update on case analysis, progress, obstacles, case completion and final case classification. Will participate in required trainings and meetings.
Summary of essential job functions
Review each offender’s criminal history to determine the criminal documents that need to be requested. Determine the appropriate county and/or State to contact. Contact clerk of courts, district attorneys, victim advocates, Department of Community Supervision, police departments and sheriff departments to request the documents. Keep track of progress with each case and once final, upload all documents in proper order to SORRB’s database. Make additional requests from agencies when requested by SORRB’s Clinical Evaluators. Travel to Georgia Counties to obtain documents when necessary.
Minimum requirements
Minimum of High School Diploma.
Law Enforcement experience.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.
Experience communicating with various agencies.
Experience working remotely and have the space available at home to telework.
Able to commute to Atlanta or other meeting locations when necessary.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
Skills in database management and publication, with good knowledge of google programs.
Preferred requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND one year of law enforcement experience. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis. Ability to work independently with good time management skills. Able to commute to Atlanta or other meeting locations when necessary. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, PDF, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
