Job Description : Recruitment Information

Recruitment Number 22-0193 The immediate vacancy is a permanent, full-time position with the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs, Regulated Industries Complaints Office (RICO), located in Kona. Salary: $3,635 per month (SR-16) This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant’s qualifications, and other relevant factors. As a condition of employment with the State of Hawaii, all qualified external candidates who have been given a conditional offer of employment must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and shall be fully vaccinated by his/her/their employment start date. A reasonable accommodation will be provided if requested by a candidate and it is determined through an interactive process that pregnancy, a qualifying disability, or a sincerely held religious belief prevents the candidate from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination.

Duties Summary

The Investigator I receives orientation and training in the investigative field; learns basic investigative techniques and procedures, as well as laws, rules and regulations pertaining to an agency’s jurisdiction; receives simple and routine assignments; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, you must meet all the following requirements: Basic Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Investigative professional work experience or any other progressively responsible administrative, professional or other analytical work experience which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four years of successful study while fulfilling a prescribed college curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for the required Education on a year-for-year basis. The education or experience background must have demonstrated the ability to write clearly and comprehensively materials such as reports and analyses; read and interpret complex written material; perform research; and solve complex problems logically and systematically. Driver’s License: Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
