This position contributes to Starbucks success by assuming end-to-end responsibility for the strategic value, usability, and performance of our Starbucks Technology Talent Lab. We design, build, and nurture a learning ecosystem to reskill/upskill and engage technologists in learning what they need to know to grow and feed their curiosity. Initiatives align to strategic imperatives such as cloud computing, cyber security, AI/ML, storytelling and emerging technologies. Talent Lab learning experiences drive employee engagement, innovation and business value, and are recognized internally and externally for being innovative and impactful.
To be successful, the product manager needs to be skilled in leading complex and ambiguous initiatives while managing cross functional expectations – including but not limited to learning paths, skills development initiatives, and supplier relationship management. They need to have a passion for building the right hybrid learning capabilities for our business to deliver the best experience and business value, while thinking ahead for what skills technologists need.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Partners with business and technology stakeholders on problem definition & to drive alignment on business goals
Defines strategic roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders to identify learning objectives and outcomes and leads prioritization of work
Holds a relentless focus on customer experience by applying HCD techniques to develop and maintain connection to learners via personas, journey maps and other artifacts as is helpful
Develops and maintains budgets and investment forecasts that enable the product development lifecycle, from design to sunset as appropriate
Partners closely with learning suppliers to capture and prioritize design elements, inspect and adapt curriculum in response to learner feedback and measure impact
Effectively collaborates with both senior managers and working teams to position and support learning initiatives aligned to Starbucks Technology strategy
Demonstrates creative problem-solving, calm under pressure, a sense of humor and strong empathy for customers and collaborators
Develops working level of knowledge in a specific product domain space of digital learning within Starbucks and the overall industry.
Able to manage tradeoffs on scope, resources, timeline on small to medium sized feature sets
Responsible for growing broad awareness and uptake of services through impactful storytelling and data-driven communication
Collaborates with peers to support high-priority initiatives in service to the larger team objectives when needed
Stays abreast of L&D and employee engagement trends and leverages knowledge in contributing to product solutions. Recommends and plans innovative products and features.
Collaborates with technical working teams to apply knowledge/expertise in refining requirements, understanding technical debt and non-functional features to prioritize appropriately
Builds effective relationships with key stakeholders and cross functional teams across the enterprise
