Albright College is seeking applications for a Digital Media Designer. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to effectively combine creativity, functionality and technology to produce eye-catching, engaging, and informative content that strengthens Albright’s brand and digital media presence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to contributing to an inclusive and equitable community as described in Albright College’s Inclusivity and Equity Statement. Primary focus and responsibilities will be the design of print and online media communications for web, email and social media networks; assisting with photo shoots, freelancers and mentoring student contributors; and contributing photography and video assets when needed. The digital designer reports directly to the creative director, and works in cooperation with the Communications team to create and implement Albright’s brand strategy initiatives and to strengthen the College’s online presence.
Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for the design of college web material, print material and online promotional materials, including full-color digital and web press printing, as well as design for social media, interactive web and digital marketing initiatives.
Participate in project planning with creative director, director of communications and campus partners as necessary. Work with print and online vendors to ensure quality, competitive pricing and delivery.
Ensure brand consistency in all promotional materials, and advise campus partners in appropriate use of logos, type, etc. to further the college’s marketing objectives.
Assist creative director on photo/video shoots, and mentor student interns when needed.
Contribute to photo library archive and job tracking software as needed and contribute to photography needs when student photographers are not available.
Participate in campus activities, serve on committees, or perform other administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications/Prerequisites: COMMUNICATION

Must be service oriented and able to effectively and collaboratively work with and communicate on the phone, in person and via email with team members, campus partners, freelancers and students.

SKILLS

Excellent design abilities
Extensive knowledge of print and digital production, web editing
In-depth knowledge of CS6
Working knowledge of html email clients, WordPress and MS Office
Ability to manage high volume of simultaneous, digital, and printed projects
Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with partners to create materials on time and within budget
Ability to work as a collaborative member of the Communications team
Photography and videography skills not necessary, but a plus
Ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment

EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years digital design experience. Portfolio of previous design work to showcase experience and creativity is required.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in graphic or digital design, or related field.
