Overall Purpose of The Job To provide a high level of Support for the systems within the Group. Communicating with end users and helping to resolve any problems they have. Work within the structure of the IT department and maintain a professional level of behaviours.
To travel to both vessels and offices when required and provide the necessary support. Work within the Support infrastructure and carry out the duties required from helpdesk support to project support.
Work within the SLA’s of external and internal customers.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks Monitoring and troubleshooting VSAT, FBB connectivity. (Beam switching, backup connectivity) – by using Marlink, Speedcast Portals and remote access over URA Assist and troubleshoot e-mails received from vessels/offices/IT support team Escalate with service providers for assistance Activate/Deactivate FBB/Iridium SIM cards/Set alerts/Firewall rules, Monitor e-mails for usages and alerts. Monitor/Manage XChange box, generate PINs and issue it to vessels against PO Monitor/Manage Infinity/Zwana, generate PINs and issue it to vessels against PO Activate Inmarsat-C terminals, Carry out LRIT Testing, Issue Calling cards against POs. Update MSIP with relevant details.
Required Experience Personal
Good inter personal skills and the ability to interact with end users.
Good Communication skills are essential.

A high level of knowledge of Desktops and Laptops
A high level of Knowledge of Printers
A moderate level of knowledge of servers
Software
Windows 10 Operating system
Microsoft Active Directory Administration
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Office all packages
Networking
A basic level of knowledge of TCP/IP , switches and LAN and WAN topologies
A basic level of knowledge of Vessel Communications and systems.
