Job Description : Wasatch Allergy and Asthma is a specialty medical center that diagnoses and treats allergies and asthma through the latest medical technology and a compassionate and highly trained medical team. Work schedule is T-F (Mondays off) 8:30AM-6:30PMJOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:General Duties OSHA and HIPPA ObservancePrepares treatment rooms for patient examinationsCleans treatment rooms following patient examinationsInterviews patients to obtain their medical historyRecords patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical filesPerforms routine screening tests, such as height and weight measurements and blood pressure checks.Purchases and maintains supplies and equipmentCleans and sterilizes medical equipment and instrumentsProperly disposes of contaminated suppliesAssists physicians during examination by handing over instruments and materialsPerforms other duties as assigned or requested.Detailed Duties Maintains temperature control on refrigerators and keep up to date logs.Check oxygen tank once a week and keep up to date log.Sets up spirometry and Ipad computers for clinical procedures.Check injection room date stamp for accuracy.Ensure patient rooms are fully stocked with appropriate clinical supplies.Escorts patients to exam room, take patients photo, vitals and patient medical history.Prepares patients for clinical procedures.Performs pulmonary function test on all asthma patients.Educates patients per doctor’s instructions.Prepares for any special procedures in advance, making certain clinical staff has the necessary suppliesGive allergy injections.Adhere to OSHA requirements including universal precautions, waste disposal guidelines, etc.Keeps inventory and orders all clinical supplies.Refill skin test trays once a week.Refill germicide once a week on Mondays and empty the germicide once a week on Fridays.Monitors drug samples for expiring medications and call pharmaceutical representatives to request additional samples when inventory is low.Follow ups on laboratory requests and obtains results to be given to the doctor for review.Handles prescription requests by a return phone call, E-scripts, fax, or mailing a written prescription.Takes complete and accurate information from ill/concerned patients and relays advice and directions to the patient.Follow ups on ill patients to check on their current status after their initial ill office visit.Assures that the exam rooms are cleaned and stocked between patient visits.Shuts down clinic computers and charges them at the end of each day.Assist in the training of new employees/externs.Perform front desk duties* -See Front Desk tasks addendum for a complete list of front desk duties-Other duties as assigned or requested.* The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education: Medical Assistant DegreeMinimum Experience: 2 years; combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field-of-Expertise: MedicalPreferred Education: Associates DegreePreferred Experience: 3 YearsCertifications and Licenses: CPR and first aid certification required; certification as a medical assistant (CMA) preferred.SKILLS: Communicate with others to gather informationAbility to maintain recordsAttention to detailKnowledge in the fields of medicine, anatomy and physiologyJob Type: Full-timePay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceMedical Specialty:PulmonologySchedule:10 hour shiftWork Location: One location
