Real Salt Lake is looking to fill the position of First Team Sport Scientist. This is a full-time position, that will work with Real Salt Lake’s 1st team on a daily basis but will also be responsible for all sport science initiatives for all 3 levels of the organization (Academy, MLS Next Pro, and MLS teams).
Job Requirements:
Work closely with the Head of Performance on daily, weekly, and annual on field periodization
Responsible for running the day-to-day GPS data collection and dissemination
Responsible for assisting in the development, execution and recording of performance testing for all 3 levels of the Real Salt Lake Organization.
Responsible for working with the club’s Data Scientist’s in the creation and maintenance of a cloud-based data collection platform that allows for easy distribution of information to other key stakeholders
Experience working with different sports science technology, including:
GPS
Force Plates/Force Cells
Assist the rest of the Real Salt Lake Performance Department in day-to-day duties including:
Warmups
Strength training
Individual fitness/technical sessions
Ability to work independently, but also as part of a larger Performance Team.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field
Master’s Degree preferred
Certification Requirements:
NSCA’s CSCS or CSCCa’s SCCC preferred
Current CPR/First Aid Certified
Experience Requirements:
2 years of working in a collegiate, MLS Academy, or professional setting
Experience with soccer preferred, but not required
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work on evenings and weekends
Ability to lift to 50lbs and be on your feet extended periods of time
