Job Description : Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day project activities including but not limited to the following functions: managing data use agreements with federal and non-federal agencies; managing the work of the statisticians, programmers, data management persons/agencies, research assistants, and student workers to keep track of the progress of the analyses required for the research projects; hiring, supervising, and training of research assistants and student workers; managing all budget-related activities; and preparing and collecting data for progress reports. In this role, you will also responsible for writing and managing IRB submissions, preparing summary reports, and preparing/editing scientific manuscripts. You will also perform basic analyses, such as cost analyses, creating data visualizations and figures, and intellectually contributing to the overarching analytical plans of research projects, and will be expected to also lead first-authored peer-reviewed publications.
Qualifications
Required: Working knowledge of research principles to aid PI and project staff with tasks including: preparation of research protocols; implementation of research projects including developing strategies for primary data collection; data preparation for analysis; preparation of grant proposals for extramural funding. Working knowledge of requirements and procedures involved in grant proposal, abstract and journal article submission to different journals, private organizations, and governmental agencies. Ability to work independently; make decisions; hire and supervise staff; conduct performance evaluations; counsel staff to resolve employee relations; delegate work and oversee timely completion of projects with concurrent and confliction deadlines. Organizational skills to oversee the management of research projects. Demonstrated expertise in the IRB, including the preparation and submission of applications. Must be fluent in current policies relating to human subjects in research. Experience with or background in secondary data analysis of large databases and survey research. Ability to perform basic analyses, such as cost analyses Able to intellectually contribute to the overarching analytical plans of research projects Previously published peer-reviewed articles in health services research
