The current opening is within Closely Held Asset Management (“CHAM”) team in Mumbai which forms part of the Trust & Estate group within Wealth Management India Solutions.
Closely Held Asset Management
The CHAM team sits within our Global Managed Solutions & Strategy business and comprises of 21 individuals across Columbus, Chicago, Mumbai & Bengaluru overseeing more than USD 5 billion of client assets globally. The prime responsibility of the team is to support Review and Valuations of closely held assets to determine if the asset should be retained or sold. Responsibilities include the issuance of asset reviews, account reviews, and market value estimates for the purpose of informing internal partners and trust beneficiaries regarding a closely held asset’s performance, while fulfilling J.P. Morgan’s regulatory requirements associated with fiduciary services.
About the Role
The CHAM Teamis seeking a Full-Time Associate to join the team in India. The Associate will work with the team on prospective opportunities and supporting existing client relationships. The role requires attention to detail, an awareness of the risks involved and an ability to work under pressure and strict adherence to deadlines.
Responsibilities Include:
Performing ongoing asset reviews and possess the ability to perform quality checks of Analyst activities, including financial and operating performance analysis of business entities
Comprehensive assessments of the assigned assets’ operating business model, revenue streams, sources of expenses and valuation assumptions, including the ability to review valuation of assets performed by Analysts
Managing regional selection of assets across couple of regions and acting as the primary interface for the equity and valuation review processes of such assets, while displaying excellent time management and workflow management abilities
Researching and reviewing reports writing by other analysts, focused on the general economy in addition to various sectors such as banking, real estate, energy, etc.
Developing & Presenting Management Review Decks and managing relationships with the valuation director, regional directors, risk and middle office stakeholders
Ability to comprehend economic developments across various sectors and provide relevant feedback for improving the overall quality of output
Managing deliverables while servicing all ad hoc queries and requests.
Ability to handle tight timelines, conflicting priorities and manage change
Organizational contribution by taking up a major role/lead one organization wide initiatives
Desired Candidate Profile:
4-6 years of relevant work experience
Experience in understanding and analyzing entity financial statements and tax returns
Sound understanding of how to read business fundamentals
A thorough understanding of different valuation methodologies with ability to solve challenging queries from the team.
Have the ability to work independently
Ability to review financial models and excellent financial writing skills
Result oriented, accepting responsibilities and challenges that take them outside their comfort zone
Positive outlook and a desire to stretch themselves to achieve both personal and functional success.
Partners well with peers, managers and directors, functional partners
Capability to manage and handle escalations by liaising with the internal & external stakeholders of the business.
Strong analysis and problem solving skills required. Ability to facilitate and review the analysis of data and technical issues
Education:
Strong educational credentials
CFA/CA would be advantageous
