The Communication Division within the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to serve as the department’s Internal Communication Manager. This role also has responsibilities related to improving customer experience. We offer a great place to work, learn and grow professionally while serving the public.
Principal Duties
Duties will include:
Planning, developing and implementing internal employee-focused communication and initiatives, including monthly newsletters, department-wide announcements and virtual presentations and staff feedback sessions.
Running the department’s employee recognition program.
Providing strategic recommendations to the department’s executive leadership on how to improve employee communication and connection with 2,200 staff spread across the state.
Drafting written messages, talking points and scripts for senior leadership.
Managing the development of creative materials with graphic designers, web manager and multimedia specialist.
Consulting with division and executive leadership on customer experience initiatives.
Supporting the department’s efforts to improve customer experience by establishing measurement and reporting tools in consultation with department and division leadership.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who:
Has a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
Has a Bachelor’s degree related to communication, public relations or human resources.
Has experience managing or supporting internal communication in a hybrid (remote and in-office work environment.
Has excellent writing and editing skills.
Is detail oriented and a self-starter.
