Job Description : Role Summary
This is a new role in the Quality Assurance Team, building automated test suites for web based products written in C#, Silverlight, HTML5 .net and JavaScript. The Automation Test Engineer will work closely within the development Teams and will be required to:
Plan, design and create automated UI tests for releases.
Work with the QA to update and extend the automated test processes
Work with the developers to resolve issues
Encourage the use of appropriate industry standard best practice and process
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement automated test modules
Execution of tests and assurance of consistency and correctness
Production of traceability and coverage matrixes
Reporting progress, results and defect diagnosis
Setup and maintenance of test environments
Contribution to Quality Assurance improvement projects
Involvement in manual test activities when required
Technical skills
Essential
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in UI Test Automation, preferably, web applications
Knowledge and experience of automated UI testing
Experience of working in a Microsoft Windows environment
Experience of managing test environments and building test data
Excellent analytical skills, being able to identify suitable tests
Ability to interrogate Microsoft SQL databases
Desirable
Ability to read source code (Microsoft development languages C#, JavaScript, SQL)
Experience of Virtual Machines / Cloud technologies
Experience of non-functional testing
Personal skills and experience
Essential
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively within a team
Able to work effectively on different tasks at the same time.
Ability to work in an Agile environment and clarify requirements with off shore teams
Highly organized.
Highly Desirable
Experience of working within scrum teams.
Qualifications and pre-requisite
Essential
Graduate/Post-Graduate in Computer Science / IT / IS /Electronic Engineering
