Interested in Alexa? Amazon is seeking a Linguistic Content Strategist with strong technical writing skills and language technology experience to help us to deliver high quality language data for a variety of Alexa products.
We are looking for someone with experience in linguistic annotation and/or semantic schemas to join our Alexa Data Services (ADS) Product team. In this role, you will be a key member in a team developing internal data labeling procedures. You will identify and solve issues directly affecting the data annotators’ experience by becoming an expert in annotation conventions.
Key job responsibilities
As a Linguistic Content Strategist at ADS, you will:
Develop conventions grammar components: e.g., write rules, create annotation conventions, and release updated versions on a regular basis.
Analyze data quality issues and update the conventions accordingly.
Identify data labeling tooling improvement needs and aid long-term scalable tool development to automate cross-team work.
Contribute to the launch of new data labeling work types by extending existing annotation schemas to other areas of human language technology.
Collaborate with Content Developers, Product Managers, UX Designers, and Data Annotator teams in developing innovative standard operation procedures (SOPs) for advanced data labeling applications.
PhD in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics or relevant field
Knowledge of Python, R, or another scripting language
Expertise in building ontologies, taxonomies, and semantic relation frameworks
Experience in writing standard operating procedures or conventions
Practical knowledge of version control (e.g., Git) and content management systems
