Job Description : The City of Sebring (pop. 10,729) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Works Director.This Department Head position is responsible for directing all activities of the Public Works Department: street construction and maintenance, sidewalks, stormwater systems, vehicle maintenance, cemeteries, facility maintenance and sanitation programs. The Public Works Director is a working director who supervises departmental employees, manages a department budget and serves as staff liaison to several boards and committees. The individual may be required to make presentations before the City Council and other governmental agencies.The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and have a minimum of five (5) years experience in a progressively responsible position and a graduate from an accredited four-year College or University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Engineering, Applied Science or related field.
