JOB SUMMARY
Guardian Flight is currently seeking a full time Flight Coordinator/Dispatcher to join our Communication Center in South Jordan, UT. The Communication Center is a fast-paced environment where Flight Coordinators work both individually and in a team environment to coordinate requests for patient transports via air ambulance across the United States. The Communication Center is responsible for customer interaction, coordinating aircraft arrivals for patient transport, and monitoring both helicopter and fixed wing aircraft in flight. This exciting position promotes continued employee growth as you work closely with pilots, nurses, paramedics, aircraft mechanics and administrators to ensure our patients are flown to their destination in a safe and timely manner.
The Communications team works 12-hour shifts, scheduled for 7 shifts in a 14 day pay period (bi-weekly), with both day and night shift available. This schedule uniquely combines weekday/weekend shifts to allow employees 5-7 days off in a row each pay period providing for better work/life balance. Position includes benefits including medical, dental and vision, paid time off (PTO), extra-shift pay, call-in pay, holiday pay and a 401K with an immediate company match. Position allows a $1.00 hourly increase at 1 year of employment, as well as annual merit increases.
Starting pay is $19.00 per hour.
Job training provided.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous dispatch experience is preferred
Previous customer service and/or sales experience
The ability to type at least 35 WPM
Excellent verbal and written skills
Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and rapidly changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and superior customer service
Basic math skills
Time management skills
General geographic knowledge and map reading skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet search engines
Ability to think and act quickly under pressure
Ability to answer and field calls from multiple phones
Ability to learn quickly
Ability to take direction and feedback well
