Job Description : JOB SUMMARYDevelops, implements, tests, calibrates, and programs mathematic models in specialized information systems applications.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in statistics, computer science, information science, or other closely related field, plus four (4) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.ORMaster’s degree from an accredited college or university in statistics, computer science, information science, or other closely related field, plus Two (2) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDevelops, implements, tests, calibrates, and programs mathematic models in specialized information systems applications to predict the market value of all types of real property.Implements test and document modelsTests and validates modelsDevelops mass models using additive multiplicative (log linear) multiple regression techniquesAnalyzes the results of model programming and modifies programs when necessaryPrepares and analyzes a variety of technical, statistical, or narrative reportsAnalyzes the results of model programming and modifies programs to optimize performance and meet goals and objectivesWork with Division Administrators to define data requirements for statistical analysisAnalyzes data and ensures optimal quality, integrity, and validity; assisting manager in presenting information on modelsPresents information on models; trains end users; assists in project planning.Prepares sales ratio studies and audits for the Utah State Tax CommissionKnowledge of:Advanced quantitative statistics and how regression theory and appraisal theory complement each other in mass appraisalRegression and statistical modeling techniquesMathematical, financial, and statistical calculationsReal property appraisal methods, techniques, cost, income, and market valuation systemsReal estate terminologyBuilding construction, materials, and costsProperty appraisal and tax related databases, table views, and spreadsheetsOperation and applications of software, hardware, machine language(s), and automated information systems appropriate to the departmentResearch methods including data compilation, analysis, documentation, and report of resultsGIS Software and usagesLaws affecting property appraisal, classifications, assessment ratios, property tax exemption, and the appeals processJob Type: Full-timePay: $70,986.00 – $106,479.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceRetirement planTuition reimbursementSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Statistics: 4 years (Preferred)Regression Modeling: 4 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
