The Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Behavioral Health, is recruiting for a Research Analyst 1/2/3 (Flex) position in our Juneau or Anchorage office.
What you will be doing:
Under the Direct Supervision of the Chief of Risk & Research Management, the successful candidate will be a member of the Division’s Policy and Planning Sections Research Unit. The Research Unit works as a team to support the Division’s data analysis and reporting needs and to meet state and federal reporting requirements.
Working as a team member to develop a Behavioral Health Geographic Information System (GIS), including developing geodatabases and map products using Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) mapping software.
Developing an in-depth understanding of the Alaska Automated Information Management System (AKAIMS) and learning to query AKAIMS using SQL Server report Builder. AKAIMS is the Division’s Web Infrastructure for Treatment Services (WITS) electronic health records system.
Defining research questions, developing analytical strategies and methods, and performing statistical analyses. Providing specific research support for the calculation of Medicaid quality assurance measures, for the calculation of other Department performance measures, and for behavioral health programs

FLEXIBLY STAFFED
This position is flexibly staffed. This vacancy may be filled at either the 1, 2 or 3 level, depending on the applicant’s training and/or experience. The full range of salaries is listed above. Starting salary will be determined by the level of the position. If filled at Level 1, promotion to the Level 2 will only occur upon successful completion of the probationary period and required training, as well as the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher job class and final approval by supervisor. It is recommended and encouraged that you apply for any/all levels that you are qualified for.
EDUCATION
