Job Description : Technical Writer Position OverviewThe Technical Writer creates and manages product documents intended for customer use and is the specialist in user-level documentation.Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:Research, write, edit, format, publish, and compile documents, including user manuals and addendumsCreate basic assembly and usage instructionsDevelop technical and servicing bulletinsOther assigned document types include documentation for spare parts, marketing, and training materialsCollect product information using a variety of means including research, interviews, and hands-on experienceWrite for user-level and specialized audiencesPerform multiple overlapping tasks (some may have shorter deadlines than others)Work regularly on self-driven and assigned projectsFrequently communicate with co-workers from a variety of departments / fields and sustain ongoing communicationResponsible for obtaining graphics and images used with the textMay be asked to create or modify graphics and images and / or take photographs of products for manualsRequired Skills and KnowledgeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEffectively prioritize tasksExcellent time management skillsProficient with Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, Teams) (Company training provided)Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat DC) (Company training provided)Practical knowledge of power and electronic systems is preferred (Company training provided)Ability to read wiring and electronic schematics is preferred (Company training provided)Become Q-LS certified within 6 months of being hired in order to better understand our products (Company training provided)Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Technical Writing or a related field, and / or 3 years of related professional experienceExperience with graphic design, photography, and image manipulationExperience with document formatting, design, and layoutJob Type: Full-timePay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Adobe Creative Suite: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
