Our team’s depth of experience enables us to partner with printers and ensure that the fusion between creativity and manufacturability is met meeting customer budget requirements.Job Description: We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing team player with a positive attitude to join our team as a Packaging Folding/Gluing Operator. We are interested in someone with experience or willingness to learn a new skill in our Bindery Department. We will provide you with the training and the tools for you to succeed in this industry. In general, this position is responsible for the daily operations of our gluer/folder machine that creates finished packaging. The Operator maximizes production and efficiencies while achieving superior product quality control for the machines assigned. This role may be responsible for overseeing production workers on certain machines.Job Responsibilities:Set up and operate gluer/folder machine to maximize production while achieving quality control metrics for products produced.Partner with the Supervisor to ensure production and schedule requirements are being met.Partner with the Supervisor to understand and take action on machine equipment needs at the start of the shift.Perform quality control checks for all jobs.Review production progress throughout the shift to measure against daily goals.Execute Machine setups to maximize efficiencies and come up with creative solutions as needed.Work with the Shift Supervisor to obtain necessary materials, parts, and directions as needed.Maintain the shop floor and ensure that it is organized, uncluttered, safe, and in clean conditions throughout the shift.Review and recommend solutions to worker safety issues.Work with the Supervisor to coordinate and execute the service and repair of equipment as needed.Hours: Day Shift 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and Swing Shift 3:30pm – 12am, Monday – Friday.Requirements: Minimum 4+ years of previous packaging folding/gluing or machine operator experience.Ability to be on your feet for the duration of an 8+ hour shift.Ability to lift up to 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.Ability to perform basic math skills and problem-solving.Ability to work overtime when needed.Experience in bindery or printing is a plus.Benefits Include: Top of market compensation package (depending on experience)Generous annual bonus100% paid medical and vision benefits for employees and 50% coverage for dependents.Full Dental benefit plan401k with a matchGenerous PTO + 10 paid holidaysQuarterly catered lunchesRelocation packages available (depending on experience)Portland Bindery is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
