Job Description : Reporting to: Assistant Laboratory Manager
About the School: The School of Arts and Sciences at Ahmedabad University currently operates in all fields of Biological and Life Sciences, including nano biotechnology and related domains of environmental biotechnology, nano medicine, toxicity and safety assessment. https://ahduni.edu.in/academics/schools-centres/school-of-arts-and-sciences/divisions/biological-and-life-sciences/
As well as Biological and Life Sciences, the School of Arts and Sciences has divisions in Humanities and Languages, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Performing and Visual Arts, and Social Sciences.
Role Summary: Involved in conducting lab courses of Integrated MS students. This is a full time position with a work load of 8 hours per day (40 hours per week).
Responsibilities:
Assisting Laboratory manager/Laboratory coordinator.
Keeping Inventory and keeping the assigned laboratory clean and organised.
Conducting practicals in various laboratories, assisting with experiments by logging the details and setting up laboratory equipment.
Cleaning and calibrating the equipment, measuring compounds and preparing stock and working solutions for use, performing and offering help with experiments.
Responsibility for recording the results and disposal of hazardous waste.
Key Skills: Basic Laboratory skill in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology and Molecular Biology and other associated domains of Life Sciences. Prior experience in teaching undergraduate courses of Life Sciences will be preferred but not mandatory.
Qualification: MSc. (Biochemistry/Microbiology/Molecular biology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences either in Biology/Physics/Chemistry) with minimum 60 % marks from a recognised University.
