The Distribution Technician / Mail Processor:
Operates light motor vehicles for delivery/pickup/receipt of printed materials, mail, and packages throughout campusAssists with express shipment processing, campus mail, and outbound mail, duties such as metering, sorting, and bundlingProvides front line customer service

Responsibilities
1. Operates light motor vehicles, and other equipment in order to deliver/pick-up/receive materials (printing, mail, packages, etc.) on, to/from campus, as well as to customers and vendors outside campus.
2. Delivers and collects campus mail, including individual delivery for special, registered and other types of controlled mail.
3. Sorts incoming campus mail, US mail, and packages assuring all items are set- up for proper delivery to campus.
4. Verifies addresses of inbound mail that needs corrections in order to ensure delivery to the proper location.
5. Process express packages for hand-off to express shipping carriers, such as FedEx.
6. Processes first class mail on mail meters and prepares outgoing mail for delivery to postal offices for processing by the United States Postal Service.
7. Conducts a quality check of printed materials prior to delivery to ensures count and quality of product, and then packages for delivery.
8. Assist customers with questions regarding mail deliveries and general information, provide front line customer service.
9. Maintains vehicles by seeing that they are inspected and serviced regularly.
10. Performs physical labor related to moving, hauling, delivery, and processing of mail.
11. Receives and records incoming materials, then reports receipt of goods to the department buyer.

Minimum Qualifications
A valid Utah’s Drivers License; the ability to move heavy objects; and positive customer service skills required. A Commercial Driver’s License with a chauffeur’s endorsement may be required if the job responsibilities require the exclusive transportation of passengers, such as for the shuttle bus or VA van.

Preferences
The ability to work under pressure deadlines; and demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills.

Experience in processing bulk rate mail and familiarity with U.S. postal regulations preferred.
