Job Description : THE POSITION

This is a rewarding position if you have a passion for children and want to ensure they learn, grow, and play in safe and healthy environments. You will have the ability to work from home after six (6) months on the job.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Early Learning Program Certification Representative, you conduct inspections of child care facilities and assess compliance with regulations that are in place to ensure the health and safety of children in regulated childcare settings. You are responsible to conduct complaint investigations when allegations of regulatory noncompliance are alleged. You also investigate allegations of illegally operating facilities. You travel extensively to facilities located in urban, suburban, and rural areas of the Commonwealth. You are on the leading edge of regulatory and policy changes that impact children and families throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Work Hours and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Monday – Friday; 1 hour lunch period
Must be willing to travel frequently. Travel expenses will be paid.
Per the home head-quartered agreement, applicants must live within one of the counties covered by the Central Region (Adams, Centre, Clinton, Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Mifflin, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Tioga, Union and York Counties) to be eligible for home head-quartering.
You will have the ability to be home head-quartered after six (6) months on the job.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor’s degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; OR an equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes one year of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development.

Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Adams, Centre, Clinton, Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Mifflin, Northampton, Perry, Snyder, Tioga, Union and York Counties.
