Position : Supply Chain Manager
Job Description : Walker Tape is hiring a Supply Chain Manager to join our team!The Supply Chain Manager will oversee and direct the activities of the planning, procurement, Inventory management, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.What are the Responsibilities? (But not limited to)Manages and trains employees.Hires for open positions.Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and quantifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.Performs write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelinesDrafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers.Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.Administers the departmental budget.Performs other duties as assigned.Do You Fit the Bill?Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven price negotiation skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Understanding of business and management principles.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Bachelor’s degree in related field preferredAt least five years of experience in related fields is required.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.May require travel.A Bit About Walker TapeWalker Tape is the industry leader in tape and adhesive for hair replacement systems and has expanded into other industries.
