Job Description : General Statement: The Alaska Primary Care Association (APCA) is a private, 501(c)(3) membership organization of Alaska’s “safety-net” primary care providers. The APCA’s mission is “helping to create healthy communities by supporting vibrant and effective community health centers” in Alaska. Our membership includes federally designated §330 Community Health Centers (CHCs) that serve all Alaskans and focus particularly on providing primary care services to those who are underinsured, uninsured, and live in medically underserved areas.Position Summary: Under the direction of the Senior Director of TTA, the Data Analytics Coordinator performs complex and technical research and data analysis in support of APCA projects. The Data Analytics Coordinator is required to make decisions concerning research approach and methodology, conflicting or inconsistent data sets, analysis, and reporting conclusions. Decisions are based on objective analysis of data and research, as well as other forms of evidence. This position uses independent judgment to identify, collect, input, analyze, interpret and report data relevant to the project.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.Plans and develops forms, procedures, and regulations governing the collection of health center related data and statisticsDevelops and implements quantitative and qualitative data collection, research, and analysis projectsPerforms meta-analysis of existing research and analysis, to identify trends and patterns in data and outcomesAdvises the APCA leadership on the design and utilization of statistical dataAdapts common statistical and research techniques to fit the administrative and operational needs of the organizationSupports the work of APCA by collecting, analyzing, and reporting on relevant data from state governmental sources, both public and confidential; and by creating charts, graphs, and explanatory narrative for APCA project reports and publicationsAs necessary, modifies existing research procedures or constructs new research and analysis proceduresAssists with monthly collaborative learning calls and bi-annual data summitsAssists APCA and CHC staff in the interpretation and use of data for decision-makingDevelop effective relationships and ensure communication with partners and other key stakeholdersSupport organization-wide communications efforts.Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills and AbilitiesBachelor’s Degree required in a related area. Master’s Degree in related area preferredAt least two years of research and/or statistical analysis experience requiredKnowledge of R is required; SPSS, SAS knowledge is preferredProficiency in SQL is preferredCommunity Health Center experience preferredStrong EHR system and clinical applications skillsAbility to work as a team member and work effectively with diverse people. Demonstrated awareness of and value for cultural competenceStrong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, Outlook and the InternetExcellent technical writing skills, to include experience writing in “plain language”Strong verbal, interpersonal and listening skillsSupervisory Relationship:Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of TTA. Supervision is received through review of work and observation of work in progress.Exercised: None at this time.Language Skills: Fluency in written and spoken English required.Travel Required: In-city travel by personal vehicle to community sites, meetings, and outreach locations. In-state travel required.
