Job Duties:
Overall, the Credentialing Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all the Health Care Providers (HCPs) of the Hawaii National Guard meet the necessary credentialing and privileging requirements. You will assist, for example, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Dentists, Directors of Psychological Health, and Behavioral Health Officers.
Privilege and credential approximately 40 military and non-military HCPs
Assess and review the qualifications of HCPs.
Ensure HCP clinical competency (i.e. that the healthcare provider possesses the required education, training, and experience to practice in the state in which they are providing services)
Ensure that HCPs maintain regulatory compliance in their scope of practice (i.e. ensure that the services they are providing comply with the regulations specific to their profession which determine what services may be provided under what conditions).
Validate that HCPs at the Hawaii National Guard are authorized to provide specific health care services.
Assist HCPs with preparing for the Credentials and Privileging Certification Board.
Maintain all aspects of the HCPs credentials record and ensure all information is always up to date.
Update HCPs credential files with information verifying their reported credentials and qualifications from the original organization that issued the document or credential (i.e. Prime Source Verification (PSV)).
Ensure the accurate completion of all PSVs and upload all documentation required by the PSVs into the Joint Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (JCCQA).
Monitor and manage credentialing/re-credentialing requirements and ensure the collected, required renewal certifications are on file within the required time frame. Provide consistent and timely follow-up on all outstanding credentialing/re-credentialing files.
Notify providers and the Hawaii National Guard Credentialing Officer of missing or incomplete required documents. Collect said documents, perform PSV, update the provider’s record, and upload the documents.
Notify leadership when an issue with a provider’s license, education, or other form of required qualification is noticed while checking on a provider’s credentials. This may require additional investigation into the issue.
Provide adverse action support to all Hawaii National Guard Military and non-military HCPs. This includes, but is not limited to:
Preparing adverse action documentation
Sending the notice of ‘adverse action’ against the HCP to the HCP, informing them of any action taken against the practitioner’s clinical privileges or medical staff membership in a health care organization, any licensure disciplinary action, Medicare/Medicaid Exclusion action, or any other adjudicated action.
Assist HCPs with preparing and sending inter-facility credentials transfer briefs (ICTBs), which is the electronic transferring of a provider’s credential file (PCF) to the facility that has requested such documentation. Record, process, manage, and initiate the Hawaii National Guard ICTBs. Provide ICTB support to all Hawaii National Guard Military and non-military HCPS and program end-users

Location and Hours:
Kapolei, HI
0730 – 1630, Monday – Friday, every weekday excluding holidays.
Services may occasionally be required evenings or weekends. If employee is required to work evenings or weekends, we will flex employee hours.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma required
Prefer candidates with an Associates degree (AA/AS)
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience working with Healthcare providers
Knowledge of medical credentialing and privileging procedures and standards
PC proficiency, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel
Must consent to a security background check prior to employment. Applicant must agree to agree to a criminal background check and drug testing.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
