Job Description : KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Ravn Alaska Chief Aircraft Dispatcher is a part of the Flight Operations team ensuring adequate Operational Control and safety of flight for all Ravn Alaska aircraft operations, whether Part 121 Domestic, Part 121 Supplemental or Part 91 Non-Routine Flight Operations. The Chief Dispatcher assists the Director of Ravn Operations Control Center (ROCC) in the administration of the Dispatch department and is responsible for and accountable of final decisions to ensure that the optimal balance of reliability, resource utilization, customer service, and profitability are consistently achieved for the entire organization. Other responsibilities aligned with Ravn Alaska Core Values include but are not limited to:
Upholding safety by gathering, reviewing, and disseminating aviation weather and Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs) to ensure the safe initiation and continuation of flights.
Demonstrating commitment through documenting, analyzing, evaluating, and to instill new processes and procedures designed to improve performance, safety and efficiency of activities and services.
Acting with integrity by establishing goals, targets, and measurement processes to accurately determine the department’s overall performance.
Embodying the spirit of connectedness when maintaining an adequate quantity of qualified dispatchers on staff for all anticipated operational needs including recruitment and hiring additional dispatchers when approved by senior management.
Showing reliability through accurately communicating the company’s Aircraft Movements so customers as well as other co- workers are aware of flight and aircraft status.
Promoting commitment by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must have the required certification and experience (as stated in regulatory documents), strong leadership and decision-making skills, and a focus on safety. Other qualifications include:
Must possess High School Diploma/GED, while college/university or aviation trade school education is preferred.
Must hold a FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Airman Certificate.
Must be at least 23 years of age, as stated in 14 CFR 121.436.
Must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and internet tools.
Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to multitask effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Must have strong research abilities and excellent organizational skills.
Must have basic knowledge of Alaska geography.
Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 Vaccination by date of hire unless already employed by Northern Pacific Airways, Inc. d/b/a Ravn Alaska.
Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS); knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation is highly desired.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
