Summary

The Community Relations and Engagement Strategist works with the Central Intake and Referral Manager and leadership at the Ohio Department of Health and Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities to identify partnerships and develop community relations and engagement strategies for Central Intake, consistent with each departments’ goals and requirements. Develops outreach and engagement plans and provides leadership to the Central Intake and Referral Marketing, Communications, and Outreach team and regional partners to implement and monitor strategies. Develops relationships with medical providers and public and private organizations serving pregnant women, and families with young children to strengthen referral relationships, and collaborate on communication and outreach strategies.
Experience Requirements (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities)

1. Minimum six years public relations, marketing, and/or communication work experience.

2. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. word processing, electronic spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software), email applications, social media platforms, and internet usage. Advanced skill level preferred.
3. Experience Adobe Creative Cloud, and e-mail marketing software preferred.

4. Minimum of two years of experience working in health care, social/human services, or related field preferred.

5. Team building skills; organizational and staff development skills.

6. Ability to resolve complex problems.
7. Ability to read, write and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.

8. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.

9. High degree of initiative and independent judgment.

10. Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.

11. Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills. Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.

12. Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
13. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.

Education/License Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Valid Ohio Driver’s License and appropriate insurance coverage.
