Job Summary
The UMB Human Resource Coordinator (HRC) provides administrative support to the human resource team to coordinate and facilitate the human resources processes at University Medical Billing (UMB). The performs professional work of considerable difficulty overseeing a range of administrative functions related to human resource management, employee engagement, and customer service. This position will be a collaborative thought partner with the HR team, UMB leadership, and as a liaison with University HR. This position is primarily remote.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Recruiting Processes: Executes UMB’s recruitment and interview process. Prepare positions for postings, manage applications, and interview process. Tracks status and number applicants in the HR systems and maintains proper documentation. Distributes applications, facilitate, and grade applicant tests.
Hiring Processes: Completes references and background checks, records, and completes applicant information in University HR system and UMB’s database.
Onboarding & Offboarding Processes: Manages the employee onboarding process. Prepares new-employee files, communications, materials, and new hire experience. Assists with the processing of offboarding, interdepartmental, and institutional transitions.
Reporting and Data Management: Produce reports of employee hours for payroll, paid leave, FMLA, recruiting efforts, and other special projects. Maintains digital file storage for HR team, including employee files, department policies, and other communications. Assist in the analysis of data as needed.
Collaborates in the development, implementation, and execution of various human resource programs and special projects, including the review and revision of UMB HR programs, policies, and procedures.
Performs customer service functions by supporting scheduling and answering employee requests and questions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Incumbents use independent judgement in resolving various problems that involve faculty, staff, students and the general public. Must use judgement and discretion when advising others of the executive’s view on policies and other issues. This position initiates and has input in the hiring and employment decisions related to subordinate staff.

Incumbents in this position may be required to represent the executive at meetings and interact with individuals at the highest levels in public and private organizations on a local and national basis.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Care Administration or a related field, or equivalency required. Two years office management and supervisory experience, demonstrated knowledge of finance and budgeting, and public relations skills required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Preferences
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint) required
Knowledge of, and proven experience with HR processes and procedures and general office administration.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be creative, innovative, adaptable, and work independently.
Experience with HRM systems, and the ability to learn new or updated software and manage multiple applications at once.
