Job Description : Under the direction of the QC Manager, this position is responsible for delivering food safety, quality assurance, and R&D services to approximately 500 associates. The Supervisor will provide day-to-day assistance with the leadership and management of approximately 6-8 QCs on their assigned shift. They will assist in establishing means and methods to ensure all employees perform job functions correctly and safely and ensure department expectations are met with adherence to company policies and procedures. This is a developmental position, and the employee must demonstrate, through experience, education, and performance, the ability to move up within Daily’s and Seaboard Foods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and other duties as assigned, satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Maintain, oversee and ensure compliance with all food safety and quality management system policies and procedures.
Execute training programs relating to all areas of HACCP, food safety, and QA policies and procedures. Ensure monthly training for all QC staff is delivered timely. Ensure onboarding of Quality Technicians is sufficient.
Responsible for the oversight, management, and development of 7-8 QC technicians.
Maintain employee schedules including PTO through ADP.
Support the job function of the QA Clerk through daily paperwork reviews and follow ups as needed.
Assist in the management of the Hold and Release Program for precook product. Ensure timely release to support the shipping department. Ensure compliance to Hold program, including USDA.
Troubleshoot and maintain all lab equipment. Communicate when diagnosis of problem cannot be made and communicate directly with suppliers.
Continuous improvement and monitoring of the Environment Monitoring Program (EMP), including: trending ATP results, identification of food contact surfaces needing investigation, etc.
Maintain sustainability of all ATP swabs, including sampling plans and necessary preparatory work.
Must be able to work within a controlled database to create Sampling Plans for ATP testing.
Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with ATP unit.
Maintain sustainability of Environmental Monitoring Program, including sampling plans, and necessary preparatory work (create schedule, prepare swabs, update SARFs, etc).
Develop all swabbing and product sampling plans to meet minimum customer requirements.
Maintain ongoing schedule.
Must be an active member of the HACCP/Sanitation team.
Support the end customer through customer reporting, COAs and KPIs as assigned.
Support the Export Program by ensuring Applications and Health Certificates are completed and maintained appropriately for all products manufactured for export. Work with USDA as needed to ensure records completed.
Plan, coordinate and direct the quality control processes designed to ensure that all production is consistent with established procedures.
Interact with USDA inspectors on all levels concerning issues with plant policies, facility and programs. Maintain and update all required records and non-compliance issues.
Ability to train, develop, and increase skill levels of QC technicians.
Assist QC Manager with plant GMP, sanitation, customer, and regulatory audits.
Maintain and oversee all shipping and receiving programs, including COA verification, label verification and other items as they arise.
Support of the 3rd party audits, including SQF Manufacturing through corrective actions, floor walkthroughs and other items as they arise.
Supplier Management: responsible for maintaining the relationship and programs involving smocks supplier and glove cleaning and management.
Responsible to maintain weekly verification of PSSI Master Sanitation and In-House Sanitation activities. Coordinate communication as needed.
Responsible to manage label approvals, including Bell mark application.
Must adhere to Seaboard Foods Code of Conduct and Business Ethics policy.
Ensure all Food Safety and Quality Management system policies, procedures, and records are maintained as they relate to job function and the SQF Code, including any customer specific requirements.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
