Job Description : TITLE: Risk OfficerREPORTS TO: Senior Risk OfficerBASED AT: Corporate HQ: 64 E. Winchester Street Suite 300, Murray Utah 84107PURPOSE: Work hand in hand with the Risk Department with facets of the commercial lending process. Oversee the Closing Department.Overview of key responsibilities and accountabilities: Duties entail functions surrounding the management of credit risks associated with the origination of rent restricted multifamily real estate loans in accordance with RMCRC policy and procedures.Responsibilities: · Ensure that specific items needing authorization by the Risk Department are handled in a timely manner to facilitate loan closings by the specified closing deadline.· Review and approve changes to loan documents made by Borrower or RMCRC legal counsel for business related issues.· Review and approve final versions of critical risk due diligence items including loan specific closing conditions, including title commitment, and survey matters.· Final review of loan documents and other necessary closing documents for adequacy.· Assist in the evaluation of multifamily property operations as part of the release underwriting process prior to funding the specific multifamily property.· Assist in third party appraisal engagement and appraisal review engagement in connection with multifamily properties proposed for financing.· Audit closed loan files to assure RMCRC policies and procedures were followed.· Assist in any internal audit requested by a third party.· Assist CRO with spreading property financial statements and preparation of Monitored Loan Reports and compiling the Annual Portfolio Report.· Follow up on action items outlined in Monitored Loan Reports, as directed by CRO.· Assist CRO with analyzing and reporting key data points related to the $400 Million loan portfolio.· Assist in maintaining critical loan analysis models and loan document templates.· Responsible for identifying potential vulnerability and risk within the due diligence process and other Closing Department procedures.· Stay abreast of information on new products, industry trends, and regulatory changes.· Assure documentation follows state and federal regulations and ensures internal compliance objectives are met.· Monitor, research, detect deterioration in loan quality and mitigate loan losses to portfolio.· Assist in managing risk functions of the organization as assigned by the CRO.· General administrative tasks as assigned.· Support management in assigned project-based work.· Other duties as assigned.Knowledge and Skills Required: · Education: Four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance or related commercial real estate degree.· Excellent writing and communication skills.· Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.· Proven ability to follow up and monitor numerous simultaneous tasks.· Proven ability to meet hard deadlines.· Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff personnel.· Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in real estate lending or related field.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftSupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Banking: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
