Job Description : Dahlia’s Hope Farm Manager Job DescriptionOrganization Overview and Mission: Dahlia’s Hope is one of the only holistic, aftercare program in Utah, and one of the few national comprehensive aftercare organizations for survivors of sex trafficking. We help survivors function independently and successfully in society through a multi-tiered approach to reach individuals at their own stages of recovery. We provide essential services to our trafficking survivors, with a focus on clinical therapy. Through clinical therapy, survivors will have access to recreational therapy, animal therapy, educational services, vocational training, health/life skills training, and housing services. All of these services are provided with the goal to lead survivors to optimism and independence. Dahlia’s Hope is seeking inspired, talented people who want to be make a difference in the lives of survivors of sex trafficking. Every role in the organization plays a critical role in the healing of survivors from volunteering, working on the farm, or providing direct therapy services.Position Summary: We are looking for dynamic, positive, and enthusiastic farm manager to join our team. The farm manager is responsible for all of the maintenance and care of our farm animals as well as the farm animals’ living environment.Job Tasks: Twice daily feedings and watering of animalsCoordination with COO/Board to ensure animals are fed and the farm is properly maintainedMaintains the cleanliness, functionality, and organization of the farmGeneral maintenance and care for all farm animalsLunging, brushing, spending time with animals, etc.General maintenance and weekly care for all farm animal shelters, playgrounds, fences, feeders, etc.General farm labor: using tools, building fences, repairing equipment, driving tractors and trucks, hauling trailers, throwing hay, etc.Training the animals, as neededCaring for the animals’ physical health including vaccinations, deworming, hoof care, etc.Planning and execution of routine and emergency veterinary visitsYard care for farm, watering wild grass areas, killing weeds on road, maintaining all corrals, etc.Purchasing items needed on the farmEnsuring we have enough food and supplies to properly care for all of the animalsProject proposals/budgetsAssisting with farm service projectsQuarterly trainings of staff on animal husbandryAll other extra maintenance and job tasks as assigned by supervisor/board of directorsProfessional Experience & Qualifications: An ideal candidate would have 2+ years of experience working with farm animals/horses, and a background in animal husbandry/veterinary workIn Addition:Must have a desire to work with survivors of sex trafficking in conjunction with the farmComputer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)Must be well organized, able to multitask, and have excellent written and verbal skillsExpectations of Dahlia’s Hope Farm Manager: Self-motivatedAbility to plan and organize job tasks independentlyAbility to problem solve and work effectively in a crisisParticipation in weekly update callsParticipation in staff meetingsAbility to make proposals for farm improvementsJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hourBenefits:Flexible schedulePaid time offSchedule:Monday to FridayWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:None.Ability to commute/relocate:Highland, UT 84003: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:Farming: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location
