Job Description : Company – LifeTime Memoirs. The role of the LifeTime Memoirs Interviewer is to help capture amazing stories about a person’s life. You will facilitate a life journey unfolding, by building a relationship with an author, over a series of personal visits. You will play a vital role in bringing to life and recording their autobiographical stories, creating a wonderful family legacy. The interviewer will visit the author, usually in their own home, for 12 meetings over a four–five-month period. Each regular meeting lasts 90 minutes and is digitally recorded for a ghostwriter to creatively adapt into a 200-page hardback book with the support of a LifeTime Memoirs editor, project manager, proofreader and typesetter. LifeTime Memoirs is the private autobiography specialist and confidentiality is essential at all times.Commitment: 4–5 monthsStart date: March 2022 – PLEASE ONLY APPLY ONLINE NOT BY TELEPHONEThe role requires:Knowledge/familiarity with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and family historyCommitment to complete 14 interviews of 90-minutes each and also spend time preparing for the sessions, uploading the audio recordings and scanning the author amends for the writer after the sessionsAbility to work as part of a virtual team and to agreed timescalesAbility to follow procedures and work to directed instructions from the team’s project managerGood IT skills to be able to learn how to use a recording machine and scanner to specified settings and upload to our online databaseCommitment to complete an online training, which covers the technical and soft skills required for the positionLiving in close proximity to the author to allow for short travel times of less than 10 miles or 30 minutesA desire to work with and build a relationship and life story with the authorProven ability to structure a conversation to ensure all relevant information is obtained in a sensible orderAn interest in social history and people’s stories, from the everyday to the exceptionalActive listening and strong verbal communication skillsEmpathy, patience and an open mannerOpen-minded and non-judgmentalThe benefits: While the role is remunerated, there are additional benefits of interviewing with LifeTime Memoirs, including:The pride of helping produce a personal autobiography and family legacyTo meet incredible people with extraordinary stories to tellComprehensive training and on-going support from a professional, expanding UK companyPart-time work to suit your scheduleIf you are interested in learning more about being an interviewer, please get in touch.Job Type: Part-time
