Job Description:
The Fish Oil Operator is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installation of fish oil operating equipment such as food grade processing pumps, grinders, contherms, tricanters and separators to maintain smooth production within the Fish Oil facility.
Essential Functions:
Timely and regular attendance
Work closely with maintenance to maintain safe and efficient production speeds and processes
Troubleshoot, repair and adjust fish oil plant equipment
Identify dangers and help prevent accidents. Explain, implement and enforce company policy and general safety practices
Coordinate and conduct maintenance during production, including assigning personnel to areas and shifts and scheduling maintenance and repairs. • Knowledge of all safety and evacuation procedures relative to designated facility

Competencies:
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required. The incumbent will possess experience in multiple maintenance skills, including but not limited to: varying conveyance systems, grinders, contherms, centrifuges and pumps. Relevant workplace experience may be a substitute for above requirements.
Training/Skills:
Experienced in multiple mechanical skills, including general knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and electrical. Familiarity with LOTO procedures for safe maintenance of mechanical parts.

Physical Demands:
Employee must be 18 years or older and be authorized to legally work in the United States. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Mental Activities:
The employee needs the ability to multitask in a high demand environment. Focus and concentration maintenance and troubleshooting of fish oil related mechanical equipment. The employee needs to regularly demonstrate attention to detail when maintaining all equipment within the facility. In addition, the incumbent must possess a keen sense of the importance of punctuality for a variety of designated tasks. The employee is required to use creativity, problem solving, independent judgment and discretion.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
