Become a part of Packsize and help us build Smart Packaging for a Healthy Planet.®.Packsize is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for processing payroll and maintaining payroll records for our team members located throughout the U.S., Canada, and Australia. The Payroll Specialist will work collaboratively with our accounting, finance and human resources teams to ensure that team members get their paychecks delivered accurately and on time. Their knowledge and experience with payroll taxes and deductions will be vital to success in this role. They will need to be familiar with payroll deductions and adjustments, audits, directed deposits, posting payroll and reconciling accounts each month. The role reports to the Accounting Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities*Initiate and process semimonthly payroll using ADP’s WorkforceNow payroll platform for multiple domestic and international entities.Manage tax and withholding records and deductions for all federal, state, local or other corporate taxes that affect payroll amounts.Verify and maintain employee payment profiles, including time-off, holiday and other leave policies.Follow and calculate all outside wage garnishment requests or judgments when required on a team member’s paycheck.Respond to and complete payroll verification requests for former team members accurately and quickly.Ensuring team member benefits are billed appropriately and submitted to accounts payable.Prepare and upload HSA contributions to team member accounts.Respond to team member questions related to their compensation, payroll taxes, tax withholdings, timecards or other payroll related questions.Collaborate with co-workers in accounting and/or human resources to develop and implement improvements, perform annual audits, including financial, 401(k), and workers’ compensation.Perform month-end close tasks associated with payroll and other benefit offerings, including, but not limited to: preparing and posting payroll entries, reconciling payroll accruals, and collaborating with the team on timing and accuracy.Open and close accounts in the state we hire in, in order to pay appropriate payroll taxes.Perform other accounting related duties as assigned or required.Perform ad-hoc projects, as required.job duties may vary depending on accounting and HR team needsQualifications (including Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Communicating with others to exchange information verbally and in writingCan work independently and maintain confidentialityStrong attention to detailAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same timeWilling to take initiative, think creatively, and solve complex problemsProficient using MS Excel and/or Google SheetsOther systems commonly used: ADP, SAP, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, DOMO, Slack, Zoom (experience preferred but not required)Experience and Education: 4-6 years experience processing payrollKnowledge of federal and state tax regulationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or associated field (preferred, but not required)Ability to operate accounting and payroll software programsPhysical Demands and Working Conditions: Ability to work in an office environment; sitting for extended periods and move about an officeLight work that includes moving objects up to 20 poundsRepetitive movementsMay work remotely periodicallyReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsJob Type: Full-time
