Key responsibilities
Actively engage and assist Maersk Compliance team and stakeholders with the daily sanctions screening of parties and advise on risks and mitigation of the screening results.Actively engage and assist Maersk Compliance team and stakeholders with daily sanctions, and export control when applicable, screening of commodities/cargoes to advise on the risk and mitigation, and whether the commodity is restricted or permitted.Actively engage and assist Maersk Compliance team and stakeholders on ad hoc basis with sanctions and export controls screening of parties and commodities/cargoes.Manage, monitor and comply with country specific approval processes for dealing with highly sanctioned countries and other sanctioned countries.Manage and execute the documentation process for the screening of parties and commodities/cargoes.Maintain detailed documentation of approvals and rejections of parties and commodities/cargoes.Manage and identify areas of high risk and work with the Head of Sanctions Screening, Head of FTC and Maersk Compliance team to mitigate the identified risks.
Support risk assessments, performance and reporting.Perform investigations on sanctions and export control allegations or incidents.Support internal control implementation and effectiveness matters for the FTC Compliance Programme.Review and advise on FTC due diligence reports.Support Maersk Compliance team with audit requests.
We are looking for
5 years’ experience within sanctions and export controls related functions and/or trade finance and/or ‘Know Your Customer’ due diligence.Understanding of commercial shipping or financial services.Advanced knowledge within implementing and maintaining a compliance programme (in particular sanctions and export controls).Excellent intercultural, problem solving skills.Excellent written and verbal skills in English.Experience in conducting due diligence.Experience in implementing internal control frameworks.Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and e-mail applications.Must be motivated and detail oriented.

Team performance within the scope of the objectives.Diligent and timely assessment of Maersk’s vendors and customers from a sanctions and export controls perspective.Diligent and timely assessment of cargoes to/from sanctioned countries or restricted parties.Proper documentation of the results of the screening of parties and cargoes.
